Franco is a traditional beat 'em up game featuring 2D graphics. The player controls a character who moves left or right across the screen, defeating all enemies encountered along the way. The main objective is to eliminate members of the Klock gang. The game features three bosses, including Block, who appear at the end of each stage. Players can choose between two forms—Franko and Alex (the latter supposedly deceased, a plot inconsistency)—who differ in both appearance and fighting style. Throughout the game, the player faces a variety of enemies with unique punches, strength levels, and dialogue. These foes include 80s subculture archetypes such as punks, skinheads, heavy metal fans in white sneakers and jeans wielding katanas, Oi! fans, gym enthusiasts, karate practitioners, as well as Militia and riot police officers. Between levels, the player travels across different areas of Szczecin in a Fiat 126P, affectionately known as "Babies." While driving, the player must avoid hitting innocent pedestrians like grandmothers and women with baby strollers. The game can be controlled using a keyboard, a gamepad, or a joystick.
