Summary
Eight centuries before the events of our tale, a bitter war tore through humanity. A small group of settlers broke away, seeking a fresh start far from Earth and its strife. Several vessels were sent into the unknown, stocked with the essentials needed to sustain the hundreds aboard—but since the region near distant Sirius had never been explored, no one could predict what awaited them. What they discovered was a vast frontier rich in untapped resources, filled with uncharted lands, breathtaking marvels, and hidden threats. Each ship, representing a cluster of people and their homeland, settled in different parts of the galaxy, guided by their onboard computers to maximize their chances of survival. The early years were tough, but over the course of 800 years, the colonies flourished and expanded, claiming system after system as their own. As they grew, survival and reproduction led to prosperity, with each colony developing unique industries and thriving through trade. Over time, their ties to Earth faded, and the memories of the old conflicts were lost. Their focus shifted to new, pressing struggles. A longing for ancestral roots led to a revival of old architectural styles, creating a somewhat romanticized version of each colony's heritage. On the ever-growing frontier, law and order were often absent. The Houses: Each colony that departed from Earth carried a name that reflected its origins. The Liberty carried settlers from the Americas, The Bretonia from the United Kingdom and nearby regions, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland with Germanic settlers. As the colonies established themselves and began to grow, they remained largely unaware of one another. Eventually, they made contact and started forming trade routes to connect their systems, strengthening both commerce and unity. Today, each colony is deeply entrenched in its corner of the galaxy, dependent on one another for trade and industry, yet vying fiercely for resources and new lands in the Border Worlds. The colonies are governed by member states within "The New Alliance" in the Sirius sector. To manage tensions, each has formed alliances and signed treaties with others as they have developed. Yet competition remains intense, with battles for dominance in business, trade, resources, and power. While fragile peace may exist between political factions, the constant struggle for control keeps the frontier in a state of uneasy tension.
