Gaia Master is an original fantasy board game developed for the Japanese PlayStation, released in Japan at a price of 4800 yen. It will later be available on the Dreamcast and Game Boy Color platforms.
Once every hundred years, a gnome known as Gaiamaster and his airborne kingdom emerge in the heavens. This being views humanity as nothing more than tokens in a grand game resembling Parker Brothers' Monopoly. It seems that medieval-style board game schemes bring him great amusement. The world is no longer under mortal control. A ghostly realm in the sky obscures the sun, the moon, and all the stars. This is the fateful hour of each century—the time of Gaiamaster, the divine gnome who plunges entire continents into turmoil! From this moment on, no human law holds power. In truth, only Gaiamaster governs the universe. No earthly force is capable of challenging the rule of the gods in the sky. Now, the Earth has become a game board and mortals are nothing more than pieces in his play!
