In the first officially licensed video game based on Jim Davis' popular comic strip featuring the lovable, lazy cat, you take on the role of Garfield as he tries to rescue Arlene from the cat pound. The core gameplay centers on manipulating objects, which you can either pick up directly or trade for with other characters. Most of the familiar characters from the comic appear in the game. Odie, the dog, follows you around—swipe him to earn points. Garfield's mischievous cousin, Nermal, can also assist you. Additionally, these characters can carry items for Garfield to use later. Garfield requires regular meals and rest—if he goes too long without either, he'll fall asleep and the game ends. Interactions with enemies can drain your energy. One of the key places to find food is at the butcher shop.
