Gekisha Boy is a 2D side-scrolling game where you take on the role of a cameraman chasing high-paying shots to satisfy your contractor. You control the shutter's aim and have limited control over the character, similar to the mechanics found in games like Cabal. As you move along a scrolling street, your goal is to capture strange, tragic, humorous, or bizarre moments to earn points. Subjects can range from crashing airplanes to Marilyn Monroe look-alikes and UFOs snatching cars. Each stage requires you to reach a specific score to advance, or you'll have to restart from the beginning.
David Goldman is an aspiring photographer who has always been passionate about capturing moments through his lens. One day, he enrolled at the Los Angeles Photography School to deepen his knowledge and skills. Every day, he endured the busy train rides to and from the academy, dedicating himself to his training in hopes of becoming the top photographer he had always dreamed of. Life was good for David until tragedy struck. His parents died suddenly in a plane crash, leaving him alone and heartbroken. He cherished them deeply and wept at their funeral, hoping they would somehow return. Struggling with grief and losing his confidence, David considered leaving the academy and giving up on his dreams. But just when he was at his lowest, Dean, the academy’s principal, noticed him and offered an unusual opportunity. Dean proposed that if David could complete eight tests by capturing eight unique photographs in eight different locations, he would be allowed to graduate. Though uncertain, David accepted the challenge and gave it his all to succeed.
