Summary

Girls' Frontline is a moe-style anthropomorphic game where players command android characters known as "T-Dolls" or "Tactical Dolls," each representing a real-life firearm. As a newly assigned commander, the player leads T-Dolls in battle and manages their organization and well-being. Combat involves turn-based strategy puzzles on a fixed map, featuring moving enemies, random item nodes, and heliports or command nodes from which the player can summon their own or support echelons—echelons set by friends for others to use. Real-time battles against enemy echelons also occur. Most combat is automated, but players can manually trigger T-Dolls' special abilities, reposition them within formations (customizable outside of battle), or order them to retreat to preserve health and resources. Players can also withdraw specific echelons from missions entirely if desired. Progress is made through campaign missions, logistic support missions, and combat simulations to level up each T-Doll. The game includes gacha mechanics, such as producing T-Dolls and equipment, and limited-time costume and furniture sets in the Dormitory. Over time, older gacha items return to the "Black Card" store, where players can trade Black Cards—earned by gifting duplicate costumes—to obtain past items. Players can decorate their dorms with furniture and interact with Chibi versions of the T-Dolls in the corresponding echelon. Gifting food and costumes increases T-Doll affection, which also rises with battle success. Affection decreases if a T-Doll dies (except in boss battles) or if another T-Doll in the same echelon perishes.
