Summary
After his mother's assassination, Carl Johnson, a former gang member, returns to the semi-fictional metropolis of Los Santos—a stand-in for Los Angeles—to reclaim the streets for his loved ones, seeking respect and reestablishing dominance. Yet, a narrative steeped in criminality, deceit, and systemic rot propels him across the vast expanse of San Andreas—a fictionalized version of California and Nevada—as he strives to reconstruct his life from the ashes.
Storyline
Five years ago, Carl Johnson fled the burdens of life in Los Santos, San Andreas, a city ripped apart by gang violence, narcotics, and corruption. Where Hollywood stars and millionaires strive to steer clear of drug dealers and gang members. Now, it’s the early ’90s. Carl must return home. His mother has been killed, his family is shattered, and his childhood friends are teetering on the edge of ruin. Upon his return, two corrupt officers accuse him of murder. CJ is thrust into a journey spanning the entire San Andreas state, determined to rescue his family and reclaim the streets.
