Green Day: Rock Band is a music-based video game created by Harmonix Music Systems, published by MTV Games, and distributed by Electronic Arts. It marks the fifth main console installment in the Rock Band series and, like its predecessors, lets players experience playing rock music using instrument-shaped controllers. The game's song selection is made up entirely of tracks by the American punk rock group Green Day. Green Day: Rock Band includes virtual representations of the three band members performing the songs in specially designed in-game venues. It also includes Green Day songs that were previously released as downloadable content for earlier Rock Band titles, and players can transfer the game's full song list to other Rock Band titles, with the exception of The Beatles: Rock Band.
