Summary

Players from across the globe will compete to shape the destiny of Cantha—a vast empire mired in political turmoil and corruption, haunted by the lingering presence of an ancient darkness. To secure victory, you must confront Shiro and his corrupted followers while maneuvering through a treacherous web of power struggles. Guild Wars Factions is the second standalone title from developer ArenaNet, introducing a brand-new world, innovative gameplay features, and fresh character professions.

Storyline

Two centuries ago, the Betrayer, Shiro Tagachi, turned the verdant continent of Cantha into a ruined expanse of stone forests and crystalline oceans. Today, in a land fractured by conflict, the choice of whom to fight may be just as crucial as the cause you champion. As the Kurzicks and Luxons clash over dwindling supplies, a deadly plague looms, endangering an empire still recovering from the treachery that nearly shattered it two hundred years ago.
