Summary
Hanii on the Road (also known as Hany on the Road or Honey on the Road) is a side-scrolling action title developed by Face. Following Hanii's adventures in Hanii in the Sky, the adorable Haniwa clay doll returns for a brand new quest. This time, he must save the world from demons and other malevolent creatures that have escaped from the realm of the gods. Unlike before, Hanii isn't soaring through the skies or firing energy blasts—he's now running along a multi-lane highway, where each lane scrolls at a different speed. It's not as simple as it looks, though. Players must help Hanii leap over enemies, avoid falling into deep pits, and manage sudden changes in scrolling direction, all while dodging a variety of deadly hazards. A time limit adds pressure, pushing Hanii to reach the end of each stage as quickly as possible. Every bit of help counts, and small wooden signs along the road indicate how far the next exit is. Along the way, players can collect special items like Blue Jars, which grant extra lives (25 are needed to max out), Mystery Jars that award between 100 and 1000 points, Extra Lives, Time Clocks, Rockets, Trampolines, and other strange and powerful abilities (including transforming into a race car or a mighty warrior in certain stages!). Hanii on the Road features a large number of levels with a non-linear structure, offering multiple interconnected paths and challenging bosses. The game also includes a two-player mode where Lemon, a yellow-colored version of Hanii, joins the action.
