Summary

Harvest Moon DS Cute is the female-oriented edition of Harvest Moon DS for the Nintendo DS. It was developed and published by Marvelous Interactive Inc. and originally launched in Japan on December 8, 2005. In this version, the male lead from Harvest Moon DS is replaced with a female protagonist, giving players the option to play as Pony from Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life or Claire from Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town. The Japanese release featured a unique system not included in the North American version called the "Best Friend" system, which enabled players to marry any of the bachelorettes and bachelors from Harvest Moon DS.

Storyline

The story in *Harvest Moon DS Cute* differs from that of *Harvest Moon DS*. In this version, the player's mother makes a wish to the Harvest Goddess, hoping the player will become a successful farmer. Eventually, the Harvest Goddess decides the player lacks a strong work ethic and shares her concerns with the Harvest King. The Harvest King becomes furious, accusing the Harvest Goddess of not doing enough and slacking in her old age. In response, the Harvest Goddess calls the Harvest King a "big baldy," and as a result, she is turned to stone. The Harvest Sprites come to her defense, which only makes the Harvest King more angry. He banishes both the Harvest Sprites and the Harvest Goddess to another realm as punishment. Afterward, the Harvest King writes a letter to the player, promising to return them if she works hard enough.
