Summary
The game is played using a point-and-click interface. Players explore the fictional town of Harvest by navigating an overhead map and visiting different locations. By interacting with townspeople and clicking on special "hotspots," players gather information and collect items that advance the story and gameplay. Harvester also includes a combat system where players can attack other characters by choosing a weapon and clicking on their target. Both the player and the target have limited health, and either can be defeated. Players can choose to move forward by solving puzzles or by defeating a non-playable character.
Storyline
The game follows Steve, who wakes up with no memory in a peculiar 1953 town named Harvest. Struggling to recall his past, he approaches those who claim to be his family and the local residents, but they all dismiss his confusion, calling him a joker. The townspeople are wildly quirky, often leaning more toward caricature than realism. They constantly urge Steve to join the Lodge, a prominent structure in the heart of town that houses the Order of the Harvest Moon. When Steve consults the Sergeant at Arms at the Lodge, he's told that all his questions will be answered within—but first, he must become a member of the Order. To do so, he must complete a series of initiation tasks, ranging from minor acts of mischief to outright arson.
