High Seas Havoc, known in Japan as Captain Lang, was also released for arcade machines that operated using a Sega Mega Drive/Genesis-based cabinet.
The story follows an anthropomorphic pirate seal named Havoc, known as Lang in the Japanese version, along with his young companion Tide, called Land in Japan, a girl named Bridget, and a sinister pirate named Bernardo. Bernardo is searching for Emeralda, a powerful gem capable of defeating entire armies. A map reveals the gem's location, and Bernardo is determined to find it. Havoc and Tide find Bridget unconscious on a beach. When she awakens in a shelter, she tells Havoc to protect her and the map. Havoc then hides the map inside a cliff. After Bernardo's henchmen capture Bridget and Tide, Havoc, the main playable character, embarks on a mission to save them.
