Storyline

Showa Year 58, early summer It’s June, and the sweltering heat has come sooner than usual. Crickets chirp during the day, and cicadas sing at night. We are in Hinamizawa, a quiet village nestled in the countryside. With a population of under two thousand, it may seem peaceful. But every year, something happens. This event is a death shrouded in mystery. (The series of incidents took place from 1979 to 1983) On a particular day in June, a life is lost, and another vanishes. These deaths are tied to the turmoil surrounding the dam construction. A long-buried murder is being reenacted. Is it a plot? A mere accident? Or perhaps an ancient curse? Someone who should have been there is missing. Someone who shouldn’t be there is present. Someone who was alive the night before is now gone. And someone who is here now is already dead. There seems to be no way to avoid the tragedy. No choice but to surrender. But don’t surrender. Only you can rise to face what comes next.
