Hollywood Squares is a trivia game inspired by the classic TV game show of the same name. It was made available for the Nintendo Entertainment System, MS-DOS, Commodore 64, and Apple II. The game is based on the 1986–1989 version hosted by John Davidson. The image of the set comes from the 1985 pilot episode (the actual series did not feature gold stars on the floor and had more detailed platforms for the cars). In the game, players must agree or disagree with statements made by fictional celebrities to claim squares and form a tic-tac-toe line. Just like on the TV show, winning one of the first two rounds earns $500, the third round is worth $1,000, and the second round is always the "Secret Square" challenge. The winner then advances to the bonus round, where they must select one of five keys and use it to unlock the correct car from a selection of five.
