Summary
Hot Wheels is a licensed game based on the toy cars from Mattel, aiming to replicate the fun of playing with toy cars. The game begins in a car showroom featuring a variety of model cars, but if none appeal to you, you can create and customize your own. Once satisfied with your new ride, head to the Paint Shop to choose a color, then drive out of the showroom and cruise through town. You see your car from the side at a slightly elevated angle, and you can steer it left or right along the road. To turn, you must pull into an opening and reverse out in the new direction. The town is divided into two sections connected by an Expressway, where a short animated clip shows your car moving along the road. Each section of the town features different buildings, some of which you can enter to maintain your car or take part in mini-games. The buildings you'll encounter include: Car Wash: Watch your car go through the different steps of a car wash. Gas Station: Take control of a mechanic to fill the car with fuel and check the tire pressure. Tuning: Observe your car as it undergoes engine tuning. Oil Change: Operate another mechanic, raise the car, and maneuver a drum underneath to catch all the oil dripping from the engine without spilling. Once the oil is drained, you can refill the car. Demolition Derby: View a square track from above, with the entire track visible as you race around. Try to crash into other cars to disable them while avoiding being hit yourself. Firefighting: Pulling into the fire station lets you drive a fire truck along the road searching for burning buildings. When you find one, park next to a fire hydrant. In the correct spot, a hose appears. Move the hose to extinguish the flames. If you're too slow, the building will collapse in flames.
