Mattel Media's Hot Wheels Custom Car Designer CD-ROM places you or your child in the driver's seat of a virtual garage, offering the chance to personalize 20 classic Hot Wheels models like the jeep, speedboat, blimp, and various racers. But why stop at customizing your dream ride when you can also design licenses and traffic tickets, craft trophies and ribbons, and even create flags and license plates? From the main menu, you can enter the Print Shop to design newsletters, greeting cards, business cards, letterhead, and postcards; the DMV to generate licenses, license plates, and issue tickets; Victory Lane to make ribbons, trophies, banners, and flags; and the Customizing Garage to give your cars a unique look. Customization options include selecting from eight color choices, adding decals, and choosing from various tire styles, muffler pipes, spoilers, and even weapons. Licenses, ribbons, and trophies can be personalized, with the option to include imported photos for licenses. Traffic tickets can be created using standard violations or tailored with "special violations," such as "Dad didn't take me to the movies...$20 fine." All your creations can be saved and printed. Hot Wheels Custom Car Designer CD-ROM features a simple point-and-click interface and doesn't require a high-powered PC. Anyone familiar with MS Paint will easily navigate the range of creative tools. Designed with kids in mind, the product includes voice-guided online help and links to the Hot Wheels website.
