Summary
Initial D - Arcade Stage 6 AA was developed by Sega in 2011. A new feature called Tag Battle was added. Unlike its previous version, this one was launched on the Sega RingEdge platform for the first time. The game underwent a shift in its driving mechanics. In contrast to Initial D Arcade Stage 5, a drift meter and a revised tachometer were introduced to assist players in identifying when they were drifting. The 'Legend of the Street' mode also brought in a "Rolling Start" feature, the first of its kind since the story mode in Initial D Special Stage. The tachometer now provided information on whether the player's speed was within or below the appropriate gear range. The online functionality was expanded to include regions where earlier versions of the game had gained popularity, enabling both nationwide and international competitions. New vehicles and tracks were introduced through online updates, without the need for additional upgrade kits like IDAS4 1.5. A mileage tracking system was also added to display the total distance players had driven. Accumulated mileage could be used to unlock exclusive cars that were later released as updates. New characters making their debut in the game include: Ryuji Ikeda, Hiroya Okuyama, Go Hojo, and Rin Hojo. New tracks such as Usui, previously featured from Arcade Stage Ver.1 to Arcade Stage Ver.3/Street Stage, returned with a redesigned layout. Tsubaki Line, Sadamine, and Akina Snow also made a return, having appeared in Arcade Stage Ver.3, where the track was transformed from nighttime to daytime.
