Summary
Iron Aces is a fictional World War 2 flight simulator. By "fictional," we mean that the game takes significant creative liberties with historical accuracy in both the world and events. The most noticeable example is that while most aircraft are based on real World War 2 planes, the setting is somewhat unique: the four main powers in the conflict (America, Britain, Germany, and Japan) are all engaged in direct combat with one another over a chain of islands in the Pacific. As a result, all these nations are brought together in close quarters and active battle.
The game consists of a series of single-player flight missions where you take control of an American pilot fighting against the Axis forces and working alongside the British. Most of the missions are airborne, with you engaging enemy aircraft in aerial combat.
