Jack in the Dark is a side project created during the development of Alone in the Dark 2. It was released as a promotional title and given out around Christmas 1993. The game came on a single floppy disk, wrapped in gold with an image of a Jack-in-the-box on the front. Later CD releases of Alone in the Dark and Alone in the Dark 2 included Jack in the Dark as a bonus. It’s Halloween, and Grace Saunders is out collecting candy when she stumbles into a tiny toy shop and gets trapped inside. The Jack-in-the-Box cackles, the toys move and play on their own, hiding a sinister mystery. Grace must uncover the dark truth behind the toys and find a way to escape this peculiar shop, ruled over by a rather unhinged Jack-in-the-Box.
