Summary

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier is a 2009 action-platformer developed by High Impact Games and released by Sony Computer Entertainment. It serves as the sixth and concluding entry in the Jak and Daxter series. Players take control of Jak, a troubled hero whose abilities have been transformed by his encounters with Light and Dark Eco. As their world faces an Eco shortage, Jak and Keira journey to the farthest reaches of the planet in search of ancient Precursor technology that might restore the planet's balance. But they aren't the only ones seeking the secrets of the Brink—Jak must battle the Sky Pirates while also wrestling with the power of his own Eco.

Storyline

During a violent eco storm, Sky Pirates attack the Hellcat, compelling Jak to fight off the intruders who descend onto their vessel from the massive pirate ship, the Phantom Blade. Keira manages to knock one pirate off the deck, while Jak gets into a brutal hand-to-hand battle with the other, Captain Phoenix. Jak is overpowered and attempts to shift into Dark Jak, but the unstable eco causes him immense pain and the transformation fails. Observing Jak's struggle, Phoenix remarks that there are others like Jak and aims to kill him. Just then, Daxter drives Phoenix away by firing the Hellcat's tailgun, though he accidentally damages their own ship, creating a fuel leak that forces Keira to make an emergency landing on Brink Island.
