JJ is an action game created and published by Square for the Famicom in 1987. In English, it is occasionally called by its full title, Jumpin' Jack, or by its subtitle, Tobidase Daisakusen Part II. The game was exclusively released in Japan. As a follow-up to Tobidase Daisakusen (known in North America as 3-D WorldRunner), JJ is a standard scrolling shooter that features a third-person perspective, with the camera placed behind the main character. Like its predecessor, the protagonist Jack must journey through multiple worlds, using his laser cannon and jumping skills to battle the serpentbeasts that have taken over the planets. JJ marked Square's final use of the "3D mode" and 3D glasses, and it was their last project before launching the iconic Final Fantasy series. The game's soundtrack includes eight tracks, all of which are either remixed or reused from its predecessor, 3-D WorldRunner. The music was composed by Nobuo Uematsu, making it his 16th contribution to video game music.
