Summary

Kanon is a Japanese visual novel created by Key, centered around Yuichi Aizawa, a high school student who returns to a city he hadn't seen in seven years, with only faint memories of his past there. As he reconnects with various girls, he gradually uncovers the forgotten moments of his life.

Storyline

Yuichi Aizawa is a second-year high school student who came to the city seven years prior to the start of *Kanon*. The story begins on Wednesday, January 6, 1999, the day Yuichi returns to the city, where he feels distant and disconnected from both the place and the people. Before settling in, it's arranged for him to live with his cousin, Nayuki Minase, and her mother, Akiko. After being away for so long, Yuichi has nearly forgotten everything about his past, save for a few small details from seven years ago. Nayuki makes several attempts to help him remember, but at first, she doesn’t succeed. As the story unfolds and Yuichi uncovers the city's hidden supernatural elements, memories of the events from seven years prior gradually resurface.
