Killzone 3 is the fourth installment in the Killzone series. It brings several enhancements over its predecessor, resulting in a smoother and more balanced gaming experience. Like its earlier entries, the game allows you to take control of a variety of turrets and vehicles, boosting your firepower but also leading to rail-based gameplay segments. A new addition is the jet-pack, integrated into the new exoskeleton system, which lets you jump and glide semi-airborne with unlimited ammunition. The environment is often destructible and can be used strategically—shooting barrels or specific plants can eliminate nearby enemy troops. In addition to the single-player campaign, Killzone 3 features an improved multiplayer mode based on the one from Killzone 2. It is also the first title in the franchise to support 3D television.
Visari is no more, but the conflict rages on. Helghast troops have launched a brutal counteroffensive, forcing the ISA to evacuate the war-torn world of Helghan. As fresh Helghast battalions arrive armed with deadlier weapons, the ISA is overwhelmed, outnumbered, and trapped. The player once again takes control of Sev, a lone survivor of the elite Alpha Squad, who must battle through vengeful and ruthless enemy forces in a last-ditch effort to survive and escape Helghan.
