Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix is a high-definition remastered collection featuring Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix. These titles, once exclusive to Japan, are now being released for the first time in North America on PlayStation 3. The compilation also includes HD remastered cinematic sequences from Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.
Story Changes: Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX - Additional cutscenes inspired by the Kingdom Hearts II novels have been included; some feature Roxas, such as scenes where he interacts with Axel in Twilight Town while wearing the Organization's iconic black coat. There are also extra scenes with Roxas and Riku, including footage of their second battle, where Riku transforms into Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, Naminé departing with Axel, Riku and Sora conversing before their clash with the 2nd Armored Xemnas, Xigbar and Zexion discussing Xemnas, and the Organization deliberating their strategies and commenting on events such as Axel's death. - Zexion's weapon is unveiled—a massive book known as a "Lexicon," which he can use to ensnare his foes in an alternate dimension. Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX - In the final cutscene of Terra's story, the Lingering Will is given a cape to ensure continuity between Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX and its later appearance in Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX. While the entire soundtrack of Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX was re-orchestrated, only "Dismiss," "It's a Small World," and "Keyblade Graveyard Horizons" in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX were altered. Additionally, Aqua's English voice actress, Willa Holland, recorded new lines for the three cutscenes exclusive to Final Mix's Secret Episode. Kingdom Hearts Re:coded - Kingdom Hearts Re:coded is presented with over three hours of fully voiced, high-definition cutscenes. It also includes character reports. Unlike Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days in Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts Re:coded features cutscenes from the Disney worlds, along with battle sequences and narration by Mickey. Additional cutscenes were included to enhance understanding of the Kingdom Hearts series, including one that links to Kingdom Hearts χ. - A new secret ending for Re:coded, titled "A Will that is Passed on," was added to tie into the events of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Additionally, due to Phil Snyder's retirement, Joe Ochman took over as the voice of Jiminy Cricket, providing new dialogue for some of the new cutscenes and re-recording all of Snyder's prior lines. Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance - This title is experienced as a series of cutscenes accessible through the credits menu.
