Summary

King's Knight is a fantasy-inspired top-down shooter in which four heroes must join forces to vanquish a dragon and save a princess in distress. It was among the earliest titles released by Square Soft, which later became part of Square Enix. The game is a spin-off of Konami's Knightmare, a title that enjoyed tremendous commercial success. The first four levels focus on enhancing your characters to their maximum potential, collecting shields (to boost defense), boots (to improve speed), swords (to raise attack strength), and spell icons (which every character must carry for the climactic assault on the castle), all while battling through hordes of monsters. These power-ups are concealed beneath mountains, rocks, and buildings. Almost every object in the environment is destructible. The playable heroes are: Ray Jack, the Knight, known for his formidable combat skills; Kaliva, the Wizard, who excels in magic and agility; Barusa, the Monster, with his high durability; and Toby, the Thief, who moves with remarkable speed. To succeed in the fifth and final stage, it is essential to keep all four heroes alive, as certain sections of the level become inaccessible if any member of the team has perished.
