Originally titled Kirby Bowl 64, the Japanese name for Kirby's Dream Course, Kirby's Air Ride was among the first titles revealed for the Nintendo 64. Early screenshots depicted Kirby rolling down slopes as a ball, but following the name change, the gameplay evolved: now, Kirby raced across tracks using Warp Stars. The game was showcased over several years before quietly disappearing without an official announcement of cancellation. It reemerged in 2003 as Kirby Air Ride for the GameCube.
