KKnD2: Krossfire

Summary

It’s been a century since nuclear warheads reduced the Earth to ruin, and forty years since the militant Survivors emerged from their underground shelters to fight the mutated Evolved for dominance over the surface. With neither side close to victory, many from both factions abandoned the war forty years ago, retreating to regroup, heal their wounds, and prepare for the next major push. Now, the New Survivors are rising from below, determined to reclaim the surface. The 'Further Evolved' mount their monstrous beasts once more to defend what remains. But a new, unexpected threat has entered the fray. From a line of dust on the horizon, the Series 9 robotic army—once simple farming machines—descend. Their original purpose was erased when the farmland they were built to protect was obliterated in the nuclear fire. Now, driven by a twisted vengeance and glowing with madness in their visors, they sweep across the land, slaughtering anything in their path. The War of the Three Armies is about to begin. Sounds terrifying, doesn’t it?

Storyline

It takes place in 2179, a century after the World Nuclear War. After remaining hidden underground for another four decades, escaping the initial defeat at the hands of the Evolved, the Survivors now face a new threat: the Series 9. These robots, originally designed for farming, have evolved beyond their initial purpose—damaged by nuclear radiation, their original programming has twisted, leading them to take up arms against humans, Evolved, and Survivors alike, who they blame for destroying their crops, the sole reason for their existence.
