Summary
Knights and Merchants brings the Middle Ages to life. While the game's geography is entirely fictional, all other elements and settings are rooted in the Anglo-Saxon era, around 1200 A.D. We've avoided using mythical or fantastical creatures, sticking instead to a realistic depiction. The player assumes the role of a regular captain in the Palace Guard. When a conspiracy against the king arises, the captain is thrust into a position of responsibility, tasked with defending the last remaining royal province. This is all that's left of the once-unified kingdom, now fractured into countless small principalities and fiefdoms. Even the king, now isolated in his capital, faces the threat of enemy forces. This is where your medieval adventure begins. Now it's up to you to reclaim all the provinces that once belonged to your sovereign.
