Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside is a basketball simulation game developed for the Nintendo 64. It launched in 1998 and earned a Player's Choice award after reaching one million units sold. At the time of the game's release, Kobe Bryant was in his second season in the NBA and became the youngest athlete to have a video game named after him. Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside includes 5-on-5 gameplay and features the 1997–1998 team rosters, with the exception of Michael Jordan, who wasn't part of the players' union and is instead listed as "Roster Player #98." The game offers three modes: Exhibition, Season, and Playoffs. Players can choose to simulate the regular season or play through each game to advance to the playoffs and ultimately win the NBA Finals.
