La-Mulana is an "Action Adventure Archaeology" game where players search for the "Anthropo-origin," hidden deep within the colossal ruins of La-Mulana, believed to be the birthplace of all civilizations. Inside the ruins lie a variety of deadly traps designed to stop intruders, as well as patrolling guardian monsters. Progress toward the heart of the ruins by solving intricate puzzles, fending off enemies, and disabling deadly mechanisms. The journey becomes increasingly challenging as you descend deeper, with ever more complex riddles and obstacles awaiting you. Take control of Professor Lemeza and uncover the secrets of the Anthropo-origin!
My name is Lemeza Kosugi. I teach archaeology at a university. Actually, I'm not a professor, just an assistant. While I lecture at the university, whenever I have time off, I travel the world in search of ancient ruins yet to be discovered. One day, after returning from a lecture, I found a somewhat dirty envelope on my desk. “Eventually, I found it. I’ve won!” The familiar handwriting on the corner of my old datebook felt like it was mocking me. A poem titled “Legend of Ancient Times” was written on the back. Inside the envelope, a gold coin with an unfamiliar pattern lay at the bottom. But I recognized the writing immediately. I suppose my father finally did it. A previously unknown ancient ruin, one that could be the origin of all civilizations—my father’s lifelong work has finally come to fruition. This brief, triumphant, childish note is always a signal to move out. He’s calling me to come. He intends to use me once more to claim the treasure, and that will be the end. My desire to surpass him is about to vanish before such an incredible research opportunity that I could never witness, even if I lived for 500 years. I packed my beloved laptop, specially designed for archaeological research, a useful brother lash and gun, and all sorts of questionable gear, and headed to the airport. My destination is “La-Mulana,” the legendary land known as the birthplace of all civilizations and the origin of humanity. Though all the items I brought, except for the laptop and the lash, were taken at the airport as souvenirs… I’ll return with even more stuff next time. That’s not a big deal.
