Summary
LittleBigPlanet is a 2009 puzzle platformer video game featuring user-created content, developed for the PlayStation Portable by SCE Cambridge Studio alongside Media Molecule. As a new addition to the LittleBigPlanet series, it is designed exclusively for the PSP and includes an all-new story mode.
Storyline
The game's narrative continues from the original PlayStation 3 release. Sackboy, the central character, chooses to embark on a global adventure. The journey begins in Down Under, a level inspired by Australia, where the player meets Bruce, a helpful figure who guides them through the early stages. Climbing to the Cave of Dreams, the player encounters the Mystic, who reveals that a grand carnival is being planned in Brazil. To make it happen, the player must travel the world to locate and convince the creator curators to attend. The next stop is The Orient, a setting based in China, where the player meets the Emperor, who keeps a dragon's egg in his treasure vault. After retrieving it and returning it to the dragon with the Emperor's apologies, the Emperor agrees to join the carnival. The player then enters the Genie's domain, The Bazaar, inspired by Persia. A mischievous monkey thief king has stolen the Genie's lamp. The player must navigate the realm to recover it, which is returned after winning a game of "Monkey Swing." The Genie then transports the player to Golden Sands, a location in Arabia, where a prince is constructing an amusement park. The player helps build and test its safety features, after which the prince decides to attend the carnival. Next, the player heads to the Alpine Mountains, where Clock Hans greets them after part of his roof has collapsed. He agrees to go to the carnival if the player helps him find his missing children while he repairs the damage. Once the task is complete, Clock Hans allows the player to use his teleportation device, transporting them to Tinsel Town, a level based on Hollywood. There, the director casts the player as a stunt performer in two films: *LittleBugPlanet* and *The Sewn Identity*. After successfully testing the films, both become blockbusters, and the director joins the carnival. In Brazil, the player moves through the various creator floats, helping each one get ready. The Director wants a photo with the player, Leading Lady, and Big Ron. On Clock Hans' float, the player fixes the clock on the lower deck. Prince Funubis requires the player to activate an oil well on his float. The Genie becomes trapped in his lamp and needs Sackboy to free him. Emperor Sario wants to set off fireworks on his float. The Mystic provides the player with a final item for his float inside Big Croc. After completing all preparations, the player adds the finishing touches to their own parade float and rides through Brazil as the end credits play.
