Summary

LittleBigPlanet 2 is a puzzle-based platformer video game focused on user-created content, first revealed on May 8th, 2010 in the June 2010 edition of the gaming publication Game Informer. The title was crafted by Media Molecule and released by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe for the PlayStation 3, marking the final significant entry in the series developed by Media Molecule, as the follow-up, Little Big Planet 3, was handled by Sumo Digital, Tarsier Studios, and The Station. While the original LittleBigPlanet was promoted as a "Platform game," LittleBigPlanet 2 was introduced as a "Platform for Games." The game fully supports all user-generated content from the first title, including custom profiles, and serves as a direct continuation of the story, making it the third installment in the series. The disc also includes Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves, a ModNation Racers demo, along with a PlayStation Network tutorial video.

Storyline

Following the events of the first game and the conclusion of the portable version, players pick up Sackboy's adventure as an inter-dimensional vacuum cleaner known as the Negativitron descends over LittleBigPlanet, threatening to suck away its residents, including Sackboy himself. Larry Da Vinci (Robbie Stevens), the leader of a somewhat secretive and loosely structured group called "The Alliance," arrives to rescue Sackboy from the Negativitron (Jeremy Mayne). The Alliance is committed to fighting the Negativitron and stopping it before it obliterates Craftworld, another name for the game's world. After Sackboy completes a series of trials in Larry's Hideout, he is informed that they must reach Victoria Von Bathysphere's (Judy Sweeney) Laboratory, where she has constructed a Sackbot army for the Alliance.
