Made Man is a 2006 third-person shooter developed by SilverBack Studios, a UK-based company, and published by Mastertronic and Aspyr for PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Windows. Set in the gritty New York City underworld of organized crime and the Mafia, the game's narrative was crafted by crime writer David Fisher with input from ex-mafioso Salvatore "Bill" Bonanno. Players step into the shoes of Joey Verola, a former soldier, as he is initiated into the world of American organized crime. He must relive every chapter, every act of violence, as he climbs the ranks to achieve the status of a made man. The story unfolds over three decades of his life, from the brutal experiences of Vietnam to the dangerous streets of Brooklyn.
Joey is thrust into the criminal underworld after rescuing a don's top lieutenant in Vietnam. The game's missions unfold as a series of flashbacks: while being taken to the don's estate for the ceremony, Joey recounts to his nephew the story of his rise through the ranks.
