Summary
A Facebook game inspired by the Avengers and other Marvel properties. Villains, both mutant and non-mutant, are causing chaos in cities around the globe! As a freshly recruited SHIELD Agent, your mission is to enlist new heroes, take down the baddies, and, of course, protect the world. Avengers Assemble!!!
Storyline
The player takes on the role of a new S.H.I.E.L.D. recruit, sent out by Nick Fury and Maria Hill in response to an unexplained occurrence known as "The Pulse," which causes a mysterious substance called Iso-8 to appear on Earth. This material has a range of properties, but in the game, it's mainly used to enhance characters' abilities. The mission is to team up with various heroes in combat against a host of antagonists all seeking to harness Iso-8 for their own sinister goals. As the story progresses, more heroes enter the fray as playable characters. The game features two seasons; Season 1 follows an original storyline in which Hydra is ultimately exposed for using Iso-8 to revive Red Skull, prompting Magneto to switch sides and fight with S.H.I.E.L.D., with many other villains soon following. Season 2 draws heavily from the Fear Itself storyline, while also incorporating elements like Incursions from Time Runs Out, eventually leading into the events of Secret Wars. Season 2 concludes with the defeat of the Serpent, though it comes at the tragic cost of Thor and Jane Foster's lives (as Mighty Thor, who had arrived through an Incursion).
