Storyline

Marvel’s Avengers begins with A-Day, a celebration in San Francisco marking the grand opening of the Avengers West Coast Headquarters and a state-of-the-art helicarrier equipped with cutting-edge technology. But the day takes a dark turn when a catastrophic event leads to widespread destruction. Accused of the disaster, the Avengers break apart. Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are consumed by guilt over the devastation and the death of Captain America. In the five years after A-Day, the world suffers without the team. A new group emerges—Advanced Idea Mechanics, or AIM—who believe that science, not Super Heroes, is the true path to saving the world. A teenager named Kamala begins to gain incredible shape-shifting and healing abilities after being exposed to Terrigen Mists during the A-Day incident. With the Avengers no longer together and AIM working to turn the public against Super Heroes, Kamala keeps her powers a secret. Kamala’s deep devotion to the Avengers, her sharp mind, curiosity, and positive outlook lead her to uncover a startling secret. As she learns to control and accept her powers, she finds the strength and the way to bring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes back together.
