Storyline

Hydra scientist Doctor Faustus brings Lilith back to life, intending to use her powers to aid Hydra in world domination. Six months later, the "Midnight Sun" draws near Earth, disrupting magic and signaling the return of Lilith’s master, Chthon. Doctor Strange, Tony Stark, and Carol Danvers attempt to recover a page of the Darkhold from Johnny Blaze but are driven back to the Abbey to enlist the Midnight Suns and revive the Hunter, Lilith’s son and slayer. Lilith manipulates Venom to assist her in capturing Wanda Maximoff and dismantling Strange’s mystical barrier. The heroes, with Spider-Man’s help, capture Faustus to uncover Lilith’s intentions, but Hydra agent Crossbones kills him before any information can be obtained. At the same time, Lilith influences Bruce Banner and Wanda, using a gamma accelerator to amplify their powers. The heroes free Wanda, banish Sabretooth, and destroy the Parchment, but Lilith unleashes the demonic Hulk and conjures demons across the globe. In a final confrontation, Lilith reveals her intention to eliminate Chthon, though this inadvertently allows him to take control of the Hunter. The Hunter forces Chthon out, and Lilith gives her life to destroy the Darkhold, reverting to her human form. She, the Hunter, and Chthon’s domain are consumed by the Darkhold, leading the heroes to believe they may still be alive. In the aftermath, Doctor Doom claims the Darkhold for himself, dismissing the prior wielders as "amateurs."
