Summary
In 3017, when Herras Ragen was just 12 years old, his father, Colonel Joseph T. Ragen, a decorated officer in the House Davion military, was leading a covert operation to dismantle a rogue mercenary group known as the Dark Wing Lance. But the mission went awry—his position was compromised, and the Dark Wing retaliated. Somehow, they uncovered the Ragen family's home location and struck under the cover of darkness, slaughtering every member. Only Herras survived, having been staying at a friend's house during the attack. What he didn't know was that the Dark Wing had made a pact: after carrying out the attack, they would disband for ten years, keeping their identities hidden, before reuniting to continue their criminal pursuits. Now, a decade later in 3027, that time has come. Herras, now a young adult, has spent the last ten years waiting for the moment to seek justice. As a freelance MechWarrior based on the planet Galatea, with a nimble 'Mech stored in his hangar and 50,000 C-Bills in savings, he will take on any contract that brings him closer to uncovering the truth and avenging his family.
