Summary

Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch is a fan-created project by CutmanMike and Team MM8BDM. This retro-themed first-person shooter aims to blend the visual style of the classic 8-bit Mega Man games with the fast-paced arena action of Doom. The game features a playable skin for each robot master, over 100 weapons and maps inspired by the original titles, support for 32+ players online, a 13-chapter solo botmatch campaign, hidden boss battles, and plenty more. If you're into online shooters or a Mega Man enthusiast, there's no reason to skip downloading and trying Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch today! The game works with nearly any Zandronum game mode, though it's built primarily for Deathmatch. To keep things balanced and straightforward, you’ll need to scavenge for weapons scattered across the map, just like in traditional Doom. Alongside a wide range of familiar weapons, there are also special items you can use at any time, such as the Rush Coil and E-Tank. The goal is simple: eliminate opponents and rack up the most kills, or "frags." Available game modes include: Deathmatch Team Deathmatch Last Man Standing (Random weapons) Team Last Man Standing Possession Team Possession Capture The Flag One Flag CTF Terminator Duel Instagib (All robots use instant-kill Metal Blades) The game also offers a solo campaign split into chapters, each inspired by a Mega Man title. Every chapter takes you through the core maps with set bots and boss fights. Between chapters, you return to Dr. Light’s lab, where you can test out weapons and more.

Storyline

CALLING ALL WARRIORS! The Second Annual Robot Master Tournament is about to kick off! In celebration of Mega Man's countless heroic efforts in saving the world, (the real) Mr. X is organizing a brand-new contest with a unique twist: every participant will be equipped with the legendary Buster and Variable Weapon System. When word gets out, the genius Doctor Wily is over the moon! He eagerly registers his most powerful machines and dares his longtime rival, Doctor Light, to enter his own creations as well. Sensing a possible threat lurking beneath the surface, Mega Man sets out to find a robot who's both eager to compete and ready to help watch for danger throughout the event. And that robot... is YOU!
