Summary
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is a stealth action title for the Nintendo 3DS. It serves as a re-release of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The game launched in North America on February 21, 2012, and in Japan and Europe on March 8, 2012. It also marks the first Metal Gear game to appear on a Nintendo-branded portable system since Metal Gear: Ghost Babel in 2000. A digital version became available in Japan through the Nintendo eShop on the Nintendo 3DS on December 16, 2014, precisely ten years after the original game's debut. The download package features a Snake Eater theme, including a FOX logo wallpaper, the game's theme music, cursor sounds from the Metal Gear series, and folders designed to resemble the cardboard boxes from the series. The digital version of the game and the 3DS theme were later made available in Europe and North America on December 18, with the game priced at $19.99. A patch was issued the following day to resolve a bug in the WIG area that caused the game to freeze and potentially damage saved data when using the Circle Pad Pro.
