A cyberpunk multi-directional shooter for the PC Engine. Metal Stoker is a top-down, multi-directional shoot 'em up for the PC Engine, developed and published by Face (possibly under their subsidiary label Sankindo). The game carries the subtitle "Neo Hardboiled Shooting." The objective is to navigate through each stage, defeat the boss, and advance to the next. Some stages consist of several linear, confined areas that require the player to clear enemies before progressing, while others are more open, allowing the player to scroll freely in multiple directions in search of enemies. The narrative is minimal, focusing on the player testing a new Custom CS-05 tank through a series of simulations. The game was released exclusively for the PC Engine and has not been re-released in any form.
