Mickey Mania 2 was a proposed follow-up to Mickey Mania: The Timeless Adventures of Mickey Mouse, intended for release on the Sega Mega Drive. While the game was never officially confirmed, its development was uncovered by Jon Burton, co-founder of Traveller's Tales. The sequel would have followed a similar gameplay style to its predecessor, with levels inspired by various classic Mickey Mouse cartoons and the introduction of new gameplay elements. Traveller's Tales ultimately scrapped the project in favor of working on the console version of Toy Story, though a preliminary prototype has since surfaced. Clips from the prototype reveal a Wild West-themed level and a ship-based stage, each loosely inspired by the 1934 cartoons Two-Gun Mickey and Shanghaied. The ship stage originally included a scrolling floor and a first-person section with a placeholder HUD meant as a humorous nod to Doom—features that were later adapted for use in Toy Story.
