Tetsuwan Atom is an action game developed by Home Data and released in Japan by Konami for the Famicom in early 1988. The game features Tetsuwan Atom, a beloved early anime icon who is widely recognized as Astro Boy outside of Japan. Created by Osamu Tezuka in 1951, the character first appeared in a comic strip before becoming a black-and-white animated series in 1963. This groundbreaking show is considered one of the earliest—if not the first—animated television programs in Japan and has had a lasting impact on the country's animation industry. The diminutive robot boy remains one of Japan’s most iconic figures. Set in a futuristic world where humans and robots coexist peacefully, the story follows Atom, a powerful young robot who lives with Professor Ochanomizu, a kind and wise scientist. The professor not only cares for Atom but also guides him in his mission to fight crime and uphold justice. When burglars break into Professor Ochanomizu's laboratory and make off with all his money, it's up to Atom to track down and recover the stolen goods.
Atom, a child born of love and justice, will bring back light and peace to Atlantis by saving Serenade and Indra, the God's children, who were trapped with the continent after they bore the people's sins. Atlantis sank beneath the fury of Ahar, the God of Light.
