Available only on the PlayStation 2, the Mortal Kombat: Armageddon Premium Editions—four unique versions—offer a range of special features drawn from the series’ storied past. Each Premium Edition of MK: Armageddon includes metallic packaging, with three designs highlighting beloved characters (Sindel & Shao Kahn, Johnny Cage & Goro, and Kano & Sonya), while the fourth showcases a special variation of the retail box art for MK: Armageddon. Inside the Premium Edition, players will find a faithful arcade recreation of the original Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, a DVD featuring a "History of Fatalities" documentary and new character videos for over 50 Mortal Kombat fighters, as well as animation cell cover art signed by franchise co-creator Ed Boon.
