Mystery Tower, formerly called The Tower of Babel (Babel no Tou) or simply Babel, is an action puzzle game. It features 64 "floors," each presenting a unique puzzle that requires arranging L-shaped blocks to form stairs leading to the exit. Some levels are locked, requiring you to gather crystal balls to unlock them. Various collectibles are available for bonus points, and a few enemies are scattered throughout that you need to avoid. Originally exclusive to Japan, the game became available through the Nintendo Switch Online service, marking its debut under its current international title.
At the start, an archaeologist and adventurer named Indiana Borgnine is on a quest to uncover the legendary Hanging Gardens of Babylon. After studying some ancient, forgotten texts, he realizes the only way to view them is by ascending to the summit of the 64-story Tower of Babel. When he arrives at the Tower, he learns that the only means of reaching higher levels is by solving intricate puzzles involving loose L-shaped blocks scattered throughout the structure. To his astonishment, these blocks are remarkably stable when stacked, allowing them to create staircases that lead upward.
