Mystic Heroes is an action fighting game inspired by Koei's Dynasty Warriors. Players can execute close combat strikes and elemental magic, which grow stronger the more they're used. The game includes eight levels. It offers four main playable characters, with four more available to unlock in the PS2 edition, bringing the total to eight. The game includes a solo story campaign and three extra single-player game modes, along with cooperative and head-to-head multiplayer options.
In ancient times, within a fabled realm, Emperor Kang and his queen, Sheva, ruled with unyielding authority. To end their tyranny, two powerful mystics, Tai and Naja, banished them deep within the sacred Mt. Houshin, bringing peace to the land. However, Kang’s son, Cyrus, gathered an army to challenge the mystics and free his father. During this conflict, two more mystics, Shiga and Lani, joined Tai and Naja in the struggle. Together, the four mystics and their allies once more safeguarded the realm and restored harmony. Now, Emperor Kang, Sheva, and the generals Grifon and Kai begin plotting their escape. Grifon reveals the existence of a mysterious force known as the "Dragon Star," believed to grant them freedom. With this knowledge, Kang invokes the power of the Dragon Star, unleashing himself and his followers from their prison and setting the stage for his return to power.
