Nakoruru: A Gift from That Person, commonly known as "Nakorimo" or Nakoruru ADV outside Japan, is an adventure title created by Inter-lets as a side entry in the Samurai Shodown franchise. It launched on July 6, 2001, in Japan for Windows, with a later port to the Sega Dreamcast. Originally intended to release alongside Samurai Shodown: Warriors Rage, the game faced multiple delays caused by shifts in its supporting sponsors.
This game follows the story of Nakoruru, a beloved character from SNK's famous fighting series, Samurai Spirits. Hailing from Kamuikotan, a small village located on Japan's northernmost island, Hokkaido, Nakoruru is part of the Ainu people, a group with rich cultural heritage and traditions. The game takes place during a break between the various tournaments Nakoruru competes in. She returns to her village, but the village elder detects a dark presence, and her friends grow concerned about her. That's where you come in—you take on the role of Mikato, a young girl tasked by the village elder to watch over Nakoruru. The evolving relationships between Mikato, Nakoruru, and the other villagers form the heart of the game's narrative.
