Summary

Hangtime was the third basketball game developed by the original team responsible for the NBA Jam series. The name was changed because the NBA Jam title had been acquired by Acclaim Entertainment, the publisher handling the home versions of the games. That same year, Acclaim released its own version titled NBA Jam Extreme. Hangtime introduced new features such as creating custom characters, alley oop plays, and double dunk moves. Later in its arcade run, a software update called NBA Maximum Hangtime was released.
