Neverwinter Nights: Kingmaker is a premium add-on for the Neverwinter Nights game, developed by Floodgate Entertainment and published by Infogrames Entertainment, now known as Atari. It was launched in 2004 and requires the Hordes of the Underdark expansion to play, offering approximately eight hours of content. The module is set in a unique world that draws heavily from Forgotten Realms and other Dungeons & Dragons settings. The story unfolds near the Keep of Cyan, located in the northern region of this realm. The main objective is to win the election and become the Lord of the Keep. To achieve this, the player must convince at least four out of nine guilds to support them. Only then can they confront their archenemy, the Masked Man—a mysterious sorcerer who commands a small army of creatures in an attempt to seize control of the Keep. Along the way, the player must also uncover the truth about their own origins and identity. A powerful, unknown ally aids them by bestowing a sentient magical weapon with a friendly and personable nature. Additionally, the player can recruit the help of two out of four NPCs who have traveled with them prior to the game's start.
