Summary
Sega's second foray into hockey on the Genesis (following *Mario Lemieux Hockey*) delivers 26 NHL teams and 650 professional athletes, each rated across 15 different attributes. Rosters and the season calendar reflect the NHL's 1994-95 campaign. A standout addition is the voice of broadcaster Marv Albert, who lends his expertise for in-game commentary. Additional features include one-timed shots, line switches, customizable penalties, on-ice brawls, speed boosts, cross-checking, instant replay, player-controlled or automatic goalies, and full stats saved via battery backup. Available game modes are Exhibition, Full Season, New Playoffs, and New Playoffs/7 Game. All modes allow two-player action except the complete 84-game season. Special care was taken with the animation, with over 1,000 frames used to give players fluid, realistic movement on the ice.
